Born, raised and educated in Dublin, Ireland, she came across Montessori at the age of 15 while recuperating from a bad case of the flu. After reading Maria Montessori’s biography she was hooked.
Her first big adventure was at the age of 19 when she spent a summer in the USA, working in New York and traveling across the country to California. It was at this time that she fell in love with the American people and their country.
After graduating from college in 1979, she emigrated, settled in Newport News and began her Montessori teaching career. During the last 26 years she has taught elementary Montessori in addition to heading several Montessori schools.
