Children's House — Morning Class: 8:30 a.m.—11:45 a.m.
The Children's House is a community of children of mixed ages (2 1/2 — 6). This program is a 3—year academic cycle where children enter between the ages of 2 1/2 and 4. Three and four year olds participate in a 3-hour program, five days a week. Each of the three years in Children's House is both unique and sequential. Children move from being among the youngest to being among the oldest. They feel at home in the class and develop a repertoire of work. There is time to practice and repeat skills. The materials offer the opportunity for new work at every achievement level.
Children's House — Extended Day Class: 8:30 a.m.—3:00 p.m.
The extended day children are those five and six year olds who are usually in their third year of the program and their teacher has determined they are ready for an extended work cycle. During the afternoon, the extended day children remain in the classroom to continue their Montessori curriculum in more depth.
Children's House Full Day Program: 8:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m.
HRIMS offers a full day Montessori program for families whose needs extend beyond the regular school day. This full day environment is designed to meet the needs of the child who is at school for a longer day and includes lunch, a rest time and extended outdoor activities. The Montessori teachers and their assistants ensure continuity throughout the day.
This program is not available when school is closed for holidays. HRIMS closes for an additional two weeks in August so that the faculty and staff can prepare for the new school year. Families are repsonsbile for making alternative arrangements on days when the program is not in session.
Early Morning Program: 7:30a.m – 8:30a.m.
This program is available to all students as space allows.
